Sony Ericsson w300i hacks and unlocking

I got tired of combing the web for answers, so I decided to blog the answers I found.

Works on any sony ericsson phone:
(< > means left right, on the central navigation pad thingy)
> * < < * < *
-pulls up a guide to test the functions of your phone. Also, had the amount of times you've opened/closed your phone (I was impressed with 27,641)

dial *#06# at the main screen
-pulls up the phone's IMEI, a unique ID code that is used for unlocking the phone. (see below)

-pulls up a dialog to enter the network unlock code (which can be obtained through your service provider. use the *#06# code to find your IMEI) WARNING: You are only given 3-5 chances to enter the code correctly. Afterwards, the phone will LOCK OUT PERMANENTLY and become an expensive paperweight.
